Job summary

The Department of Health is seeking a Senior Developer, Infrastructure & M365 Services to design, build and support secure, scalable ICT solutions using Microsoft 365, Power Platform and cloud technologies. You will join the M365 & Platforms team delivering enterprise capabilities that improve productivity and information management.

Senior Developer, Infrastructure & M365 Services

The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on
supporting Victorians to be as healthy as they can; whether through alerting them to seasonal risks like thunderstorm asthma, notifying them of contact with

About the role:

The Senior Developer plays a key role in designing, building and supporting secure, scalable and user centred ICT solutions using Microsoft 365, Power Platform and associated cloud technologies. Working within the M365 & Platforms team, the role contributes to the delivery of enterprise and business solutions that improve productivity, collaboration, information management and digital service outcomes across the Department.

About you:

Key Accountabilities Include:

• Responsible for translating business requirements into high quality technical solutions through sound design, development, testing and deployment practices, while ensuring alignment with departmental standards, architecture, security and governance frameworks.
• Provides technical leadership within project and operational contexts, supporting the delivery of new capabilities, continuous improvement initiatives, and the ongoing maintenance and support of production systems.
• Collaborates closely with project managers, functional analysts, architects, platform specialists and stakeholders to design reusable and sustainable solutions that meet evolving organisational needs.
• Contributes specialist expertise to problem resolution, incident management and enhancement activities, ensuring solutions are reliable, well documented and fit for purpose.

Qualification (s):

• Relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
• Certification in PRINCE 2 or another project management methodology is strongly preferred, and experience with Agile projects is considered beneficial.

Specialist expertise::

• Extensive experience as a Senior Developer in medium to large government or commercial organisations, with expertise in solution architecture, software design patterns, development standards, application frameworks and industry best practices.
• Designing services and collaborating with analysts, architects and stakeholders to develop scalable, reusable and supportable solutions.
