Job summary

Department of Health in Melbourne seeks a Principal Solution Architect to develop proposals, assess designs and advise on architecture across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Copilot, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Teams and Purview.

You will translate business and security requirements into secure, scalable designs, provide strategic guidance to projects, and establish reusable patterns and guardrails for effective use of Microsoft 365, Power Platform and AI

Qualifications

• A degree or qualification in IT will be highly advantageous.
• ITIL certification is highly desirable.
• Agile project experience will be advantageous.
• Proven expertise in software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.
• Integration patterns, SOAP/REST APIs, API management and SOA framework, plus JSON/XML messaging.

Principal Solution Architect, Strategy Architecture & Planning

The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. We’re focused on

About the role:

The Principal Solution Architect is responsible for developing solution proposals, assessing technical designs and providing architectural advice, particularly across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, Teams and Microsoft Purview.

The role translates business, functional, security, information management and non-functional requirements into secure, scalable and supportable solution designs. It provides strategic guidance to projects, leads solution options analysis and establishes reusable patterns and guardrails that enable the effective and responsible use of Microsoft 365, Power Platform and AI capabilities.

About you:

• A relevant IT-related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous for this role.
• Certification in the ITIL methodology is highly desirable.
• Agile project experience will be advantageous.
• Proven expertise in software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.
• Integration patterns, service development (SOAP Web Services and RESTful APIs), API management (API security and usage policy definition) and SOA framework, as well as messaging formats (JSON and XML).
