Job summary

The Aquarium in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Desktop Support Engineer to join a large financial services client onsite in Sydney. You will be the go-to person onsite for end-user support, guiding a small team of junior engineers and taking on infrastructure project work as it arises.

This is a 12-month contract with a salary package of 100,000 AUD. The client is keen to start ASAP and the role requires supporting Windows and Office, incident/change/configuration management, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Diploma or equivalent in IT or a related field.
• Solid experience in an ITIL-driven environment, with strong knowledge of incident, change and configuration management.
• A good understanding of network and infrastructure technologies (servers, storage, switches, routers, patching).
• Experience supervising or mentoring a small team of junior engineers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• A strong customer service focus and excellent verbal and written English.
• A self-directed approach, able to prioritise your own work and communicate clearly with internal customers.
• Experience in a collaborative, large-scale multinational environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Supporting end-user devices (PC and mobile), office devices (printers, AV equipment) and peripherals.
• Supporting Microsoft Windows and the Office suite.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex issues and providing guidance to junior engineers.
• Working within incident, change and configuration management processes.
• Identifying systemic issues, improvement opportunities and risks, and raising them with management.
• Supporting infrastructure projects alongside end-user support.
