RHL Recruitment Australia is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Sydney to deliver robust electromechanical designs that meet specifications and quality targets. You will own solutions across the full product lifecycle with a hands‑on problem‑solving approach.

The role requires a mechanical or mechatronic engineering background, 7+ years of hands‑on experience, and collaboration with international partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronic or manufacturing engineering and electromechanical product design experience in R&D and manufacturing environments.
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience.
• Experience with domestic consumer products in the food or beverage industry is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials and manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping.
• Proven experience collaborating with cross functional teams, locally and abroad, and coordinating with international manufacturing partners.
• Familiar with regional and international safety compliance standards.
• Proficiency in CAD modelling (SolidWorks) and mechanical/thermal analysis knowledge.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with interest in health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee complete product lifecycle design and decision making.
• Detail design of electromechanical assemblies with varied materials and finishing techniques.
• Fast-turnaround prototyping with internal and external partners.
• Perform tolerance analyses and DFM/ DFA to ensure mass-production viability.
• Communicate with overseas manufacturers on components and quality expectations.
• Drive root-cause analysis (FMEA) and corrective actions during development.
• Maintain technical documentation and stakeholder reporting.
• Ensure product tests meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the strategic product roadmap delivery.
