Super Smiles Dental in Sydney is seeking a Senior Dental Assistant with a surgical and implant focus. This part-time role includes weekend availability and a clinical-focused environment where you’ll work closely with clinicians to deliver exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Strong experience in surgical and/or implant dentistry.
• Excellent chairside assisting and understanding of clinical procedures.

• Ability to support anxious patients and maintain high clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance across general, cosmetic, surgical and implant procedures.
• Assist clinicians with implant surgery, surgical extractions and other advanced dental treatments.

• Manage instrument processing, sterilisation and infection control.

We are specifically looking for someone who sees Dental Assisting as their chosen career and is passionate about developing within the DA role.

This position would therefore not suit applicants who are currently studying, or planning to study, Oral Health Therapy, Dental Hygiene or Dentistry.

We are looking for a highly skilled, confident and compassionate Senior Dental Assistant to join our professional and growing dental team.

This is aclinical-focused rolefor someone who enjoys working closely with clinicians, is experienced in surgical and implant dentistry, and understands the importance of making every patient feel comfortable, supported and cared for throughout their treatment.

About the Role

As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our clinicians and ensuring the highest standard of clinical care and patient experience.

Your primary focus will bechairside assisting, surgical and implant procedures, clinical preparation and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional chairside assistance across general, cosmetic, surgical and implant procedures
• Assist clinicians with implant surgery, surgical extractions and other advanced dental treatments
• Support patients before, during and after treatment, helping them feel comfortable, informed and well cared for
• Build positive relationships with patients and contribute to an exceptional overall patient experience
• Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, surgical setups and sterile fields to the highest clinical standards
• Manage instrument processing, sterilisation and infection control procedures in accordance with current guidelines
• Anticipate clinicians' needs and provide efficient, proactive chairside support
• Monitor clinical stock levels and ensure instruments, materials and equipment are prepared and ready for treatment
• Maintain a high standard of clinical organisation, cleanliness and attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with the dental team to maintain a positive, professional and supportive environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement within the practice and uphold high standards of clinical care

About You

We are looking for someone who is more than just clinically capable —you genuinely care about people and take pride in creating an exceptional patient experience.

You will ideally have:

• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Dental Assistant
• Strong experience insurgical dentistry and/or implant dentistry
• Excellent chairside assisting skills and a strong understanding of clinical procedures
• A warm, caring and professional approach to patient care
• The ability to confidently support and reassure patients, including those who may be anxious about treatment
• Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of clinical organisation
• Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilisation and clinical protocols
• The ability to anticipate clinicians' needs and work proactively
• A positive, reliable and team-focused attitude
• The ability to remain calm, organised and professional in a fast-paced environment
