Job summary

North Shore Prosthodontics is a modern, specialist prosthodontic practice in Cremorne seeking a part-time Dental Assistant. You will primarily provide chairside clinical support while performing some reception duties and ensuring a smooth patient flow.

The role involves assisting with prosthodontic and surgical procedures, maintaining infection control, and learning new digital workflows including 3D printing. A friendly team and patient-centered environment are emphasized.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Strong chairside assisting skills.
• Willing to learn digital workflows including 3D printing.

Responsibilities

• Assist dental practitioners during surgical and prosthodontic procedures, prepare equipment, anticipate clinician needs.

Job description

You will work closely with our dental practitioners to ensure our patients receive an exceptional experience and our clinical days run smoothly and efficiently. The majority of your role will involve chairside dental assisting, with some reception duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting dental practitioners during surgical and prosthodontic procedures, including preparing equipment, assisting efficiently during procedures and anticipating clinician needs
• Maintaining high standards of infection control and sterilisation
• Preparing surgeries and ensuring all equipment and materials are ready for procedures
• Assisting with digital impressions, intraoral photographs and other digital workflows as required
• Assisting with 3D printing and digital models/appliances
• Taking and processing digital X-rays (if certified)
• Keeping the clinical areas clean, organised and well stocked
• Welcoming and checking in patients and providing a warm, professional first impression
• Scheduling appointments and managing payment transactions
• Maintaining accurate patient records and updating electronic medical files

About you

• At least 2 years' experience as a Dental Assistant
• Strong chairside assisting skills
• Surgical and/or prosthodontic experience is highly regarded
• Confident working efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining excellent infection-control standards
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Warm, friendly and professional with patients
• Highly organised and attentive to detail
• Comfortable using dental software and electronic medical record systems
• Willing to learn new digital workflows, including 3D printing
• Reliable, punctual and positive team member
• Predominantly clinical/chairside Dental Assistant duties
