Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Melbourne to lead complex Defence projects, managing the full system lifecycle from requirements to verification and validation. You will work across multidisciplinary teams, driving technical investigations, design reviews, and engineering change activities.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with engineering plans and security clearances, and build strong stakeholder relationships with Defence customers and suppliers in a dynamic,

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering required.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status preferred.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs).
• Experience with configuration management and DOORS.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Technical Investigations and Technical Instructions for Defence platform systems.
• Verify and validate technical data to support engineering outcomes and project delivery.
• Develop and manage systems engineering artefacts, plans and documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align design requirements with CM processes.
• Act as a Design Acceptance Representative and participate in design reviews.
• Lead major upgrade and engineering change projects for customers.
• Support requirements management, risk management, verification and validation activities.
• Prepare and review engineering reports and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with AEO requirements and Contractor Engineering Management Plans.
• Build relationships with Defence customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and graduates to foster technical excellence.
