Job summary

KBR in Melbourne seeks a Systems Engineer to sustain, improve and evolve complex voice and data communication systems. You will apply systems engineering to risk management, safety assurance and lifecycle support while delivering reliable networked systems.

You will engage with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety and compliance in Defence programs. The role is permanent, full-time, based in Melbourne with NV1 or higher clearance required and AGSVA/ITAR compliance as part of

Qualifications

• Tertiary engineering qualification in Systems/Electrical/ Electronics or related field.
• Minimum 3 years delivering engineering outcomes in a defence environment.
• Good knowledge of network/communication engineering architecture.
• Experience in Defence Safety Engineering practices including LMSM, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Safety Case.
• Experience in electronic systems and OEM software solutions.
• Knowledge of electronics, networking tech and system interfaces.
• Understanding of Capability Life Cycle and Configuration Management.
• Experience preparing and presenting governance documentation; ASDEFCON deliverables.
• Experience coordinating across Defence, Industry and Capability Management.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex engineering activities in systems engineering under limited direction.
• Exercise engineering authorities and regulatory delegations.
• Develop engineering reports, briefs, and documentation for review.
• Research and define issues, implement corrective actions.
• Build positive relationships and participate in team activities.
• Communicate via reports, calculations, and presentations to stakeholders.
• Assess scoping, planning and design packages for recommended actions.
• Ensure materiel meets requirements and regulatory frameworks.
