Job summary

Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company, seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build data products and reduce complexity. You will centralize data into the warehouse from major mastheads and partner with Product to enable innovative data solutions.

Day-to-day includes designing pipelines, leading designs, and integrating AI tools while collaborating with Cyber Security and Platform teams to meet standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with data modelling experience.
• Experience with cloud migrations and modern data stack tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models.
• Lead solution designs and document technical decisions.
• Champion best practices in coding, DevOps, and metadata standards.
• Incorporate AI tools for code suggestions, profiling, and testing.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security and Platform Engineering to meet standards.
• Work with Product Managers to shape data solutions and share knowledge.
