Job summary

CEVA Logistics in Banksmeadow, NSW, seeks an experienced Customs Manager to lead our Australian customs brokerage operations, ensuring compliance and exceptional service across the country. You will guide a team of Senior Customs Brokers, Customs Brokers and Classifiers, manage complex matters, and partner with Air & Ocean teams to drive performance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• You are an experienced customs brokerage professional with strong technical expertise and proven ability to lead teams and deliver compliant, efficient customs operations.
• A current Australian Customs Broker Licence and relevant customs brokerage qualifications are required.
• Extensive customs brokerage experience, including leadership of customs teams within freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of Australian customs and biosecurity regulations, tariff classification, valuation, origin and trade agreements.
• Proficiency with customs systems such as CargoWise or Expediant, with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Australian customs brokerage operations, ensuring compliance with customs, biosecurity and international trade regulations.
• Coach and develop a team of customs professionals, building capability and a strong service culture.
• Oversee complex customs matters, including tariff classification, valuation, origin, concessions, permits, audits and regulatory enquiries.
• Manage workflows, resources and clearance priorities to meet customer service, quality and productivity targets.
• Coordinate offshore processing activities, ensure quality controls and timely handovers.
