Job summary

Aggreko plc in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead control system design across PLC, SCADA and industrial networks for a major hybrid power project. You will supervise consultants, coordinate interfaces with electrical, mechanical and energy storage systems, and guide FAT/SAT, commissioning and performance testing.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in control systems engineering within power generation, utilities, mining, oil and gas, renewables or major industrial settings.
• Strong hands-on experience with PLC programming and in-depth knowledge of PLC architecture and industrial protocols.
• Experience supervising or technically coordinating engineers, consultants and system integrators.

Responsibilities

• Undertake design and review detailed control systems (PLC, SCADA and network).
• Develop, review and maintain PLC control philosophies, functional descriptions and system architecture.
• Support PLC programming and software development.
• Review and verify PLC/SCADA/industrial network designs and provide technical direction to consultants and vendors.
• Coordinate interfaces between control systems and electrical, mechanical, BESS, solar and balance-of-plant systems.
• Review Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA and other industrial interfaces.
• Develop and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and participate in System Integration.
• Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and performance testing.
• Ensure documentation and final as-built delivery to Operations.
