Job summary

Aggreko plc in Australia is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead design, testing and commissioning of a major hybrid power generation project integrating renewable generation, battery energy storage and thermal generation.

You will oversee PLC/SCADA architectures, supervise consultants, and ensure robust control system delivery across interfaces with electrical, mechanical, BESS, solar and balance-of-plant systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Control Systems Engineering or related field.
• Significant experience in control systems within power generation or industrial settings.
• Strong understanding of PLC architecture, remote I/O, and industrial protocols.
• Experience supervising engineering consultants and system integrators.

Responsibilities

• Undertake design and review detailed control systems (PLC, SCADA and network).
• Develop, review and maintain PLC control philosophies, functional descriptions, cause-and-effect documentation, control narratives and system architecture.
• Support PLC programming and software development.
• Review and verify PLC, SCADA, HMI and industrial network designs; provide technical direction to consultants and vendors.
• Coordinate interfaces between control systems and electrical, mechanical, BESS, solar and BOP systems.
• Develop FAT/SAT tests and participate in system integration testing at vendor sites.
