Job summary

Site Automation Pty Ltd in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead hands-on automation projects from design to commissioning. You will work directly with clients and management to deliver high-quality control systems across manufacturing and industrial environments.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, strong PLC/HMI/SCADA expertise, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience delivering industrial automation and control systems projects.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capability.
A high standard of technical documentation and attention to detail.
The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
Leadership capability and experience coordinating engineering activities or project delivery.
Experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms; HMI/SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition and PlantSCADA; Industrial networking; Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V).

Responsibilities

Design, develop and implement automation systems using PLC, HMI and SCADA platforms.
Lead and contribute to projects from concept through commissioning.
Work directly with clients to understand requirements and develop practical automation solutions.
Provide on-site commissioning, troubleshooting and technical support as required.
Produce technical documentation, functional descriptions and project reports.
Ensure compliance with company, client and industry standards.
Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Support and mentor junior engineers as the team grows.
