Airswift is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join a hands-on automation team in Brisbane. You will design, develop, implement and commission PLC, SCADA and HMI control systems for mining and heavy industry projects, with emphasis on robust technical documentation and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Control Systems Engineering and demonstrated experience in concept to commissioning lifecycle, FAT/SAT and site

Competenze

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Control Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong automation experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Experience leading or supporting FAT, SAT and site commissioning activities.
• Experience coordinating with electrical, instrumentation, process, mechanical and project engineering disciplines.
• Design, development and implementation of PLC, SCADA and HMI control systems.

Job Title: Senior Control Systems Engineer Duration: 12 months Schedule: 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week Location: Brisbane QLD

This opportunity is based in Brisbane and offers the chance to contribute to mining and heavy industry projects within a hands‑on engineering environment. The role focuses on the design, development, implementation and commissioning of PLC, SCADA and HMI control systems, supporting complex automation and industrial communications solutions. This position will also play an important part in technical documentation, troubleshooting and cross‑discipline project delivery.

Required Education

Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline

Required Experience

• Strong professional experience in industrial automation and control systems
• Experience in mining projects or the heavy industry sector
• Demonstrated experience taking control system solutions from concept and detailed design through to implementation and commissioning
• Experience supporting or leading FAT, SAT and site commissioning activities
• Experience coordinating with electrical, instrumentation, process, mechanical and project engineering disciplines

Required Skills

• Design, development and implementation of PLC, SCADA and HMI control systems
• Development of control philosophies, functional descriptions, I/O lists, network architectures and technical documentation
• PLC and HMI/SCADA programming, configuration and testing
• Strong troubleshooting capability across control, instrumentation, communications and automation systems
• Experience with industrial communications and networked control systems
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, control philosophies and functional specifications
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills
• Ability to review engineering designs and provide technical guidance to project teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with platforms such as Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Emerson or ABB
