AustCorp Executive in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to work across design, development, programming, commissioning and troubleshooting of control systems for mining projects. The role splits time between the Brisbane office and client sites, hands-on with Ignition SCADA and PLC systems to boost equipment and process control performance.

You will work under guidance from a Lead Engineer, contributing to the full lifecycle of control systems and documentation, with a focus

Qualifications

• Degree in control systems, electrical, instrumentation or process engineering.
• 6–10 years of mining or energy/utilities engineering experience.
• Hands-on Ignition SCADA experience is essential.
• Solid PLC programming experience.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and maintain Ignition SCADA applications, including HMI screens, tags, alarming, historian and reporting.
• Design, develop and diagnose PLC, RTU, HMI and industrial network systems.
• Programme, test, commission and monitor control systems on and off site.
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing process control systems.
• Write and update technical documentation, such as Functional Specifications, IO Lists and Operating Manuals.

My client is a growing engineering consultancy based in Australia that provides system integration, project management and tailored consulting solutions to the mining, energy transition, manufacturing and utilities sectors across Australia.

Ongoing growth means the business now needs a Senior Control Systems Engineer in Brisbane to support a number of tier one mining projects.

The role

You'll split your time between the Brisbane office and client sites and work across the full control systems lifecycle: design, development, programming, commissioning and troubleshooting. An experienced Lead Engineer will mentor you while you work hands-on with Ignition SCADA and PLC systems to improve the performance of mining equipment and process controls.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Ignition SCADA applications, including HMI screens, tags, alarming, historian and reporting
• Design, develop and diagnose PLC, RTU, HMI and industrial network systems
• Programme, test, commission and monitor control systems on and off site
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing process control systems
• Write and update technical documentation, such as Functional Specifications, IO Lists and Operating Manuals

About you

• A degree in Control Systems, Electrical, Instrumentation or Process Engineering
• 6-10 years of industry experience in mining (preferable) or energy and utilities engineering
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Ignition SCADA is essential!
• Solid PLC programming experience
• A background in, or a strong interest in, mining
