Lead / Senior Control Systems Engineer – Melbourne

Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 + super | Package negotiable based on experience

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead / Senior Control Systems Engineer to join our client's team in Melbourne, Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced control systems professional looking to take on a senior technical role, working across industrial projects and playing a key role in the design, development, commissioning and delivery of control systems solutions.

The Role

As a Lead / Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership across control systems engineering projects, working closely with clients, project teams and other engineering disciplines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and delivering control systems engineering projects from concept through to commissioning.
• Developing and reviewing control system architectures, functional specifications and engineering documentation.
• PLC, SCADA and DCS programming and configuration.
• Control system design, testing and commissioning.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and optimisation of control systems.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
• Working closely with electrical, instrumentation and other engineering disciplines.
• Liaising with clients and providing technical support throughout project delivery.
• Participating in FAT, SAT and site commissioning activities.
• Ensuring engineering work is completed to the required technical, safety and quality standards.

About You

We are looking for someone who has strong technical capability and is comfortable taking ownership of projects and providing leadership to others.

Ideally, you will have:

• Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience in control systems engineering within an industrial environment.
• Strong experience with PLC, SCADA and/or DCS systems.
• Experience with control system design, programming, testing and commissioning.
• Experience working on industrial automation projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider engineering team.
• Previous experience in a Lead, Senior or Technical Lead capacity would be highly regarded.
