Job summary

Jobgether presents a Senior Compute Network Engineer role for Australia‑based candidates. You will design, build, and evolve data center fabrics powering GPU, AI, and HPC infrastructure, working across leaf-spine architectures and enabling scalable, reliable networks.

You will lead hands-on engineering, collaborate with vendors and integration partners, and act as a regional technical anchor across time zones to deliver next-generation network architectures.

Qualifications

• Strong background in networking and telecommunications.
• Deep understanding of IP routing, QoS, MTU, resiliency, and failure scenarios.
• Experience with BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, and leaf-spine architectures.
• Experience designing or operating large-scale data center networks.
• Experience with large-scale MPLS networks.
• Experience writing scripts to automate network or operational tasks.
• Knowledge of Python or Perl is desirable.
• Familiarity with Agile environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, test, and certify new network hardware, systems, and software.
• Design and deploy resilient leaf-spine network fabrics supporting GPU, AI, and HPC infrastructure.
• Design and operate IP fabrics using BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, and ECMP.
• Support GPU frontend, backend, storage, management, and out-of-band network connectivity.
• Configure and operate switches, routers, and data center interconnects.
• Implement congestion management capabilities, including QoS, ECN, and Priority Flow Control.
• Integrate GPU data centers with transport, internet transit, cloud, and external connectivity services.
• Run proof-of-concept exercises with integration and technology partners.
• Contribute to development of next-gen network architectures and standards.
• Develop network architecture standards, low-level designs, implementation plans, and operational docs.
• Maintain relationships with network hardware vendors and tech partners.
• Evolve network automation and monitoring systems for capacity, latency, congestion, and availability.
• Provide advanced technical support to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support deployments and operations.
• Prepare technical summaries and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Act as final escalation point for operations and engineering teams.
