Job summary

Megaport is seeking a Compute Networking engineer in Australia to design, build and evolve data centre network fabrics underpinning our bare metal and accelerated compute platform.

You’ll work across leaf-spine fabrics, GPU and storage networks, and drive automation with internal teams and partners to deliver fast, predictable, and operable infrastructure.

This role is the regional anchor, collaborating across time zones with Brazil and the broader Megaport network to scale our NaaS platform.

Qualifications

• Strong background in networking and telecommunications.
• Experience with IP routing, QoS, MTU and resiliency.
• Hands-on with BGP, EVPN-VXLAN and leaf-spine.
• Experience with large-scale DC networks and MPLS.
• Scripting to automate tasks (Python/Perl) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Linux networking and IaC practices desirable.
• Ability to work across time zones and adapt quickly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, test and certify new network hardware.
• Design resilient leaf-spine fabrics for GPU and HPC infrastructure.
• Operate IP fabrics using BGP, EVPN-VXLAN and ECMP.
• Support GPU frontend, backend, storage, and management networks.
• Configure switches, routers, and data centre interconnects.
• Develop network architecture standards and low-level designs.
• Maintain vendor relationships and drive automation.
• Provide technical summaries to executives.
