Job summary

Dream Maker Community Services in Marsden Park NSW is seeking experienced Support Workers for a high-complexity, high-intensity role. You will support a participant with significant behavioural, psychosocial, and substance-use needs, delivering trauma-informed, respectful care across 24 hours per week.

The role requires building trust, maintaining boundaries, and collaborating with health professionals to ensure safety and well-being. Shifts run 3:00 pm–11:00 pm and 11:00 pm–7:00 am.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing high- and complex-behavioural needs.
• Experience with drug/alcohol use and psychosocial disabilities.
• Ability to stay calm in unpredictable and high-risk situations.
• Strong communication and thorough documentation.
• Culturally safe practice with Aboriginal participants.

Responsibilities

• Build a trusting relationship with the participant while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Provide prompting and support for personal hygiene, daily living and appointments.
• Utilise behaviour support plans and risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with health professionals, support coordinators and other providers.
• Participate in shifts across 3:00 pm–11:00 pm and 11:00 pm–7:00 am.
