Job summary

ASC is recruiting a Senior Cloud Engineer to design, operate and improve our Azure cloud platform from the Adelaide CBD. You will deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions, lead IaC adoption and drive automation in a regulated environment.

You will own Azure environment performance and reliability, mentor the Cloud team and collaborate with stakeholders to meet business objectives, governance, and cost optimisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure architecture, landing zones and cloud-native best practices.
• Experience with Azure platform operations, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, security, governance and Microsoft Entra ID.

• Design, deploy and enhance Azure platform capabilities that support business and operational objectives.
• Own the ongoing operation, performance and reliability of the Azure cloud environment.
• Lead the development and adoption of Infrastructure as Code, including setting standards for how cloud infrastructure is structured, managed and maintained.
• Drive Azure DevOps, automation and cloud engineering best practices across the platform.
• Ensure cloud security, governance and compliance requirements are maintained and continuously improved.
• Deliver cloud-focused initiatives in collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the Cloud team.
• Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, efficiency, automation and cost optimisation.

About the Opportunity

Join ASC as a Senior Cloud Engineer and play a key role in the design, operation and continuous improvement of our Azure cloud platform. Working with our Adelaide CBD based Cloud team, you’ll deliver secure, scalable and reliable cloud solutions that support business outcomes and operational excellence. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role focused on Azure platform engineering, automation, security and operational excellence within a highly regulated environment.

About you

• Proven experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale Microsoft Azure environments.
• Strong understanding of Azure architecture, Azure Landing Zones and cloud-native best practices.
• Experience with Azure platform operations, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, security, governance and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code standards using tools such as Terraform, Bicep or PowerShell.
• Experience delivering cloud-focused initiatives and working with cross‑functional technical teams.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive and self‑motivated approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
