ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We seek a Design Technologies Engineer to shape and support the tools and technologies enabling Australia’s complex engineering programs. You’ll work across engineering and design applications to drive system performance and continuous improvement, with an Adelaide base and Perth option.

You’ll join a collaborative team to deliver tangible impact while expanding expertise in advanced engineering, balancing life and work with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience using, supporting and configuring 2D and 3D CAD tools.
• Familiarity with PLM/PDM platforms and data/workflows integration.
• Broad technical knowledge across engineering apps, VDI and cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience with SQL databases, scripting or programming to support automation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams.
• Experience within Defence or understanding Defence standards will be highly regarded.

About the Opportunity

As part of ASC's continued investment in digital engineering capability, we're seeking a Design Technologies Engineer to help shape and support the tools and technologies that enable some of Australia's most complex engineering programs.

Working across a diverse portfolio of engineering and design applications, you'll drive system performance, user capability and continuous improvement. Joining a collaborative and highly skilled team, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact while expanding your expertise in an advanced engineering environment.

While this role is ideally based in Adelaide, SA, we also welcome applications from exceptional candidates located in Perth, WA, who will work closely with our Adelaide-based team from ASC's Perth office.

What you'll be doing

• Support, configure, develop and maintain a suite of engineering and design applications, ensuring tools remain reliable, accessible and fit for purpose.
• Act as the link between engineering users, digital systems and business requirements, helping teams maximise the value of digital engineering tools and technologies.
• Deliver specialist Level 2/3 support for engineering applications, working closely with users, vendors and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Manage tool licensing, system availability and application performance, ensuring engineering teams can operate effectively and efficiently.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, procurement, legal and commercial teams to support compliant, secure and sustainable technology solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, user training and best practice adoption across ASC's digital engineering environment.

You’ll bring:

• Experience using, supporting and configuring 2D and 3D CAD tools, engineering design applications, and modelling or simulation environments.

• Familiarity with PLM/PDM platforms and an understanding of how engineering data, workflows and design tools integrate across the engineering lifecycle.
• Broad technical knowledge across engineering applications, virtual desktop environments, enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity concepts.
• Experience working with SQL databases, scripting or programming languages to support, automate or enhance technical solutions.
• Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience within Defence, or an understanding of Defence engineering standards and regulations, will be highly regarded.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
