Reporting to the National Claims Manager, the Senior Claims Consultant plays a pivotal role in assisting the team leader in team leadership, coaching, and mentoring while simultaneously managing a compact portfolio of claims. The responsibilities extend to fulfilling senior duties, including complaints and dispute handling, payment authorisations, and conducting quality reviews for referrals to the Insurer.

Additionally, the role will serve as a subject matter expert for projects aimed at augmenting the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our claims operation.

Key Responsibilities in the position would see you:

• Managing complex claims comprehensively, ensuring efficient handling from initiation to resolution while adhering to established policies and regulations.
• Managing complains and disputes in a professional manner.
• Evaluating claim complexities, utilising advanced technical knowledge to resolve issues and determine suitable settlements, while maintaining compliance with policies and legal standards.
• Collaborating with external stakeholders such as policyholders, legal representatives, experts, and service providers to conduct thorough claim evaluations and ensure comprehensive resolutions.
• Identifying and addressing training needs within the claims team and mentor junior team members.
• Completion thorough reviews of referrals before submission to the insurer.
• Leading or actively participating in claims projects aimed at improving operational efficiencies.
• Supporting the Team Leader in day-to-day claims duties, including team management in their absence.
