Job summary

ATC Williams is seeking a Senior Civil/Tailings Engineer to join our Hunter Valley team on a permanent full‑time basis. You will deliver civil, tailings and earthworks projects across Australia and internationally, working with principals and multidisciplinary teams to provide practical, fit‑for‑purpose solutions.

You will mentor graduates and junior engineers while managing client relationships, budgets and schedules, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability and quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires tertiary Civil Engineering qualification and eligibility for professional registration.
• 5–10 years' experience in civil, tailings, mining or related infra projects.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver design projects from investigation to construction.
• Experience partnering with clients and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of civil, tailings and earthworks projects from concept through to construction support.
• Develop practical engineering solutions balancing technical excellence, client needs and commercial outcomes.
• Prepare and review engineering analyses, designs, reports, and project documentation.
• Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and high‑quality delivery.
• Manage small to medium projects with scope, budget, schedule, and risk management.
• Prepare proposals, fee estimates and BD opportunities.
• Conduct site investigations, inspections, and audits on mining/infrastructure projects.
• Mentor graduate and junior engineers to strengthen Newcastle team capability.
• Collaborate with ATC Williams' national network to solve complex challenges.
• Champion safe, sustainable and innovative engineering outcomes.
