Job summary

OrmoInfra is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers to join our team or embed with client projects across Australia's largest infrastructure programs. You will be responsible for contract administration, commercial management, procurement, variations and cost control, working closely with delivery teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in relevant roles, strong Excel skills, and a practical, commercially minded approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in quantity surveying, commercial management or contract administration.
• Experience on major infrastructure, civil, rail, roads, tunnelling, utilities, energy, mining or data-centre projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and project commercial management.
• Experience with variations, procurement, forecasting and subcontract administration.
• Strong Excel and commercial analysis skills.

Job description

You will work as part of an OrmoInfra team or be embedded directly within one of our clients' project teams. Depending on your experience and the assignment, your responsibilities may include contract administration and commercial management, procurement and subcontractor engagement, preparation and assessment of variations, cost forecasting and cost reporting, subcontractor payment assessments, contractual correspondence, claims preparation and assessment, tender and bid evaluation, quantity take-offs and measurement, cost estimating and benchmarking, commercial risk identification, final accounts and contract close-out, and supporting Project Directors and Commercial Directors with commercial decision-making. This is not a traditional consultancy role focused on producing reports from outside the project. Our people work closely with delivery teams and are expected to understand what is actually happening on the project, identify commercial issues and help solve them.

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
• Experience working contractor-side will be highly regarded
