Job summary

Consilium Solutions is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Perth team. You will lead commercial activities across mining and infrastructure projects, delivering cost management, contract administration, and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.

You will manage cost estimates, forecasts, procurement support, and commercial reporting while mentoring junior staff and ensuring alignment with our core values—Performance, Integrity, Efficiency and Commitment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience with at least 3 in a Senior capacity.
  • Willingness to travel, including FIFO/DIDO as required.
  • Experience on mining, infrastructure or major construction projects in Australia.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, commercial management and cost control.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide QS services across mining, infrastructure, energy and major capital projects.
  • Develop cost estimates, cost plans, budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Administer contracts, progress claims, variations and final accounts.
  • Support procurement activities and tender evaluations.
  • Mentor junior QS and Commercial Consultants.

Job description

Consilium Solutions is expanding and seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Perth team. In this role, you will work closely with project teams and clients across major mining, infrastructure, and critical minerals projects, providing commercial leadership, cost management expertise, and contractual support throughout the project lifecycle.

As a key member of our growing commercial team, you will be responsible for managing project costs, contract administration, procurement support, valuations, forecasting, and commercial reporting. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, commercially sound, and aligned with our core values of Performance, Integrity, Efficiency, and Commitment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quantity surveying, cost management, and commercial advisory services across mining, infrastructure, energy, and major capital projects
  • Develop and maintain project cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and review quantity take-offs, cost benchmarking, and value engineering assessments
  • Administer contracts, including assessment of progress claims, variations, extension of time claims, and final accounts
  • Support procurement activities including tender preparation, bid evaluation, contractor selection, and contract negotiations
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams
  • Provide strategic commercial advice during project planning, execution, and close-out phases
  • Support project controls and governance processes to ensure compliance with client and contractual requirements
  • Mentor and support junior Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Consultants within the business
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with AIQS or RICS is highly regarded
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 3 years in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Lead capacity
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work on client sites, including Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) and Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) assignments, as required by project and client needs
  • Demonstrated experience delivering mining, resources, infrastructure, or major construction projects within Australia
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial management, and cost control principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
