Job summary

IBR Group in Sydney seeks a Civil Program Manager or Principal Civil Engineer to lead the continued development, delivery and growth of the civil engineering team in Sydney. The role combines technical and project leadership, client management, and business development within a nationally connected consultancy.

You will oversee a diverse portfolio across private and public sectors, mentor engineers, and collaborate with senior leaders to strengthen the team and market position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level civil engineering degree required.
• Minimum 10 years of consulting experience with at least 5 in the Australian market.
• Experience across urban development, civil infrastructure, public works or local government projects.
• Proven ability to manage projects, programs, budgets, resources and client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design and delivery of civil engineering projects.
• Manage your own portfolio of private and public-sector clients.
• Oversee projects from initial proposal through to detailed design and delivery.
• Maintain high standards across technical quality, commercial performance, programming and client service.
• Develop existing client relationships and identify new project opportunities.
• Contribute to tenders, proposals, fee submissions and project negotiations.
• Support the strategic growth and market position of the Sydney civil team.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to engineers and designers.
