Job summary

Cassowary Coast Regional Council is seeking a Principal Civil Operations to lead the planning and scheduling of civil maintenance works, ensuring resources and contractors are coordinated to meet service levels and community needs.

This senior role provides technical leadership across asset treatments, planning and risk management, while supporting a positive workplace culture and safety compliance within Council’s Asset Maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Cert IV or higher in Civil Construction or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in civil infrastructure maintenance.
• Proven leadership of high-performing operational teams.
• Strong planning, coordinating and delivery of civil works programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and scheduling of civil maintenance activities.
• Coordinate resources, works and contractors to meet service levels.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and Australian Standards.
• Promote safe work practices and continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, resources, and procurement for value-for-money.
