Job summary

Precruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Coordinator Infrastructure Delivery to lead the Council’s road construction, maintenance and grading programs in regional Queensland. The role delivers strategic and operational leadership, ensuring works align with budgets, safety, quality and asset-management requirements.

You will drive multidisciplinary teams, oversee procurement, contract management and reporting, and provide authoritative technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years' experience in civil construction and maintenance operations.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Significant construction and grading project management experience.
• Strong capability in planning, estimating, scheduling, contract management and QA.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence outcomes and drive accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual road maintenance, construction and grading programs.
• Plan and prioritise resources, schedules and operational activities.
• Provide leadership across multidisciplinary construction and maintenance teams.
• Manage complex civil works programs across safety, quality, cost and delivery.

The Opportunity

A Regional Queensland Council is seeking a highly experienced Principal Coordinator Infrastructure Delivery to provide strategic and operational leadership across its road construction, maintenance and grading programs.

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Delivery, this is a critical leadership position responsible for coordinating complex, multidisciplinary works programs while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and to the required quality standards.

About You

You are a highly experienced civil construction leader who can combine strong technical knowledge with the ability to lead people, establish clear expectations and deliver complex operational programs.

You will bring:

• Minimum 15 years' experience in civil construction and maintenance/grading operations
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams
• Extensive construction and grading project management experience
• Strong capability across planning, estimating, scheduling, contract management and quality assurance
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence outcomes and drive accountability
• High-level analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Strong understanding of WHS, environmental and quality management requirements
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report-writing skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and relevant civil works, asset or project management systems
• Current Queensland C Class manual Driver Licence
• Current Queensland General Safety Induction White or Blue Card

Highly regarded:

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
