Job summary

Paragon Engineering is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join our specialist consultancy in Australia. You will deliver designs across wastewater, stormwater and drainage projects, working with our multidisciplinary team to transform client requirements into practical solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of civil engineering experience, a degree recognised by Engineers Australia, and a strong grasp of Australian standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil engineering experience with detailed design & documentation.
• Degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia; CPEng & higher education valued.
• Understanding of Australian standards, planning processes and local council requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design solutions in wastewater, stormwater and drainage infrastructure.
• Review documents, providing compliance checks and direction.
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to define scope, objectives and deliverables and ensure client requirements are translated into designs.
• Conduct inspections and assessments of infrastructure assets, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Undertake engineering judgement, interpretation and data analysis for practical and commercial solutions.
• Ensure all design work meets Australian Standards and local council requirements.
• Liaise with councils, authorities, developers and clients to optimise designs.
• Work on Development Engineering projects from Application to Completion stages.

The Role:

Due to continued growth, we are searching for a Civil Engineer to join our team — You will play a key role in delivering designs and reports across a variety of projects - working alongside our structural, geotechnical and site engineers to deliver technical activities and designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver design solutions in wastewater, stormwater and drainage infrastructure applications
• Review and analyse engineering documentation, providing compliance checks and direction
• Liaisebetween internal teams andexternal stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, anddeliverables and ensure that client requirements are translatedinto designs
• Conductinspections and assessments of infrastructure assets, ensuring compliance withrelevant regulations and standards

Requirements

Tobe considered for the role, you must have

• 5+years of experience as a Civil Engineer with Sydney Water or as a WSC (with road and pavement design experience highly regarded)
• Adegree in Civil Engineering , recognised by Engineers Australia (CPEng and higher education are highly regarded)
• A demonstrated background in delivering detailed design & documentation
  
• Understanding of NSW planning legislation and development processes and f amiliarity with urban design concepts
• Strong understanding of Australian Standards, WSAA and SWC Standards and local council engineering requirements
  
• C3 or C4 competency levels with a range of comparable projects
• A specific cover letter is a must, outlining the relevance of your experience to this position
