Ipswich City Council is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to partner with stakeholders across the ICT Branch, identify opportunities, and support delivery of ICT systems and digital solutions.

You will drive value through requirements management, stakeholder engagement, and organisational change, while delivering robust business cases and continuous improvement of corporate systems.

Qualifications

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in senior business analyst roles in large/complex/politically sensitive environments.
• Experience in business case development and feasibility assessments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Responsibilities

About The Role

As Senior Business Analyst, you will be part of the ICT Branch and responsible for partnering with stakeholders across council to identify business improvement opportunities, develop business cases, and support the successful delivery of ICT systems and digital solutions.

Your focus will be on driving business value through effective requirements management, stakeholder engagement, organisational change, and solution delivery.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading business discovery workshops and facilitating requirements gathering for complex ICT initiatives
• Developing business cases, feasibility studies, and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and maximise return on investment
• Managing stakeholder engagement, communication, and change management activities to support successful business transformation
• Analysing and improving business processes while identifying risks, benefits, and opportunities for optimisation
• Working across the ICT Branch to co-ordinate and support upgrade activities
• Supporting the planning, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate business systems and digital solutions

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or extensive experience in a Senior Business Analyst role, preferably within a large, complex, or politically sensitive environment
• Demonstrated experience in business case development, feasibility assessments, and identifying opportunities for business improvement
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across all organisational levels
• Experience working within project delivery environments and applying agile/adaptive delivery methodologies
• Highly developed analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
• A commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering positive customer outcomes

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary between $126,481 and $134,140 plus 12.5% superannuation and 17.5% holiday leave loading.
