Job summary

Cairns Regional Council is seeking a Business Improvement and Engagement Officer to drive business performance, improve processes and strengthen community connections from Council Chambers, Cairns. You will lead improvement initiatives, manage projects end-to-end, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes.

This full-time permanent role offers a salary between AUD 102,167 and AUD 110,383 per year, with flexible working arrangements and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Business Communications, Data Science or Project Management or extensive demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in business performance management and stakeholder engagement best practice.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver small to medium projects including research, data analytics, scheduling, planning and coordination skills.
• High level skills in process improvement and business performance improvement.
• Strong reporting, analytics, dashboards and data visualization skills (PowerBI or similar).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to engage with and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead business improvement initiatives through analysis, process review, stakeholder consultation and implementation of sustainable solutions.
• Manage projects from initiation through to implementation and evaluation, including scope, risks, issues, timelines and outcomes.
• Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities that enhance customer outcomes.
• Facilitate workshops, consultation activities and information gathering to support project and business improvement outcomes.
• Provide professional advice and support to stakeholders on business improvement, reporting, systems and process enhancement.
