Job summary

The University of Western Australia invites applications for a facilities coordinator to drive building maintenance and refurbishment across a large campus portfolio. You will coordinate activities, supervise contractors and ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

About the opportunity

• Coordinate and oversee building maintenance activities and refurbishment projects across a large portfolio of University buildings, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Manage service requests, consult with stakeholders, develop scopes of work, obtain and review quotations, and supervise contractors to deliver quality maintenance outcomes and an excellent customer experience.
• Provide technical advice and expertise on building maintenance, compliance requirements, construction standards and asset management practices, while supporting continuous improvement and providing guidance to colleagues and stakeholders across the campus estate.

About you

• A formal trade qualification with at least four years relevant experience, or extensive experience and demonstrated management expertise in a technical field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Extensive experience planning and coordinating building maintenance and flooring replacement projects for a large portfolio of buildings.
• Advanced current working knowledge and experience in a building trade.
• Extensive scoping development, job quoting and contractor management skills, with the ability to contribute to team objectives and operational priorities.
• Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
