Job summary

Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron (RMYS) invites applications for a Yard & Marina role focused on maintenance, safety and smooth operations across club vessels, yard, marina and racing infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure vessels are seaworthy, up-to-date with safety equipment, and that race-related assets are actively maintained for events.

Mandatory licences and certificates include Australian Power boat licence, Driver's Licence and Marine Radio Operator's Certificate.

Qualifications

• Australian Power boat licence (mandatory).
• Australian Driver's Licence (mandatory).
• Marine Radio Operator's Certificate (mandatory).
• Experience with slipping of vessels (desirable).
• Strong organisation skills and time management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage maintenance and care of club vessels and assist operations as directed by Yard & Marina Manager.
• Ensure all club vessels are seaworthy, up to code and compliant with laws.
• Maintain Life Saving Appliances and Fire Fighting Equipment in readiness.
• Maintain racing marks and ancillary equipment according to schedule.
• Oversee antifouling and engine servicing per RMYS maintenance schedule.
• Ensure Race Tower is operational for events and fix faults within 7 days.
• Review RMYS Risk Register for On-Water, RMSTA, Marina, Yard & Slipway every 6 months.
• Liaise with Boating & RMSTA on vessel availability and requirements.
• Maintain marina and yard equipment and refuel club vessels.
• Clean and empty Reverse Vending Machine as required.
