Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Protection team based in Australia. You will design and develop scalable backend systems for payment dispute management, fraud prevention, and risk automation, in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.

You will own end-to-end backend systems, collaborate with engineering and product leaders, mentor teammates, and drive architectural decisions while integrating with payment service providers and fraud platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven experience owning backend systems end to end, from architecture and development through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance.
• Strong software engineering and system design skills for scalable architectures in evolving environments.
• Experience building systems from scratch and taking ownership of ambiguous problems.
• High standards for code quality, testing, reliability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain robust backend systems with end-to-end ownership.
• Develop automation for payment disputes and integrate with providers.
