Job summary

Icon Water is seeking a Data Engineer to shape how data is transformed into insights that drive better business decisions. You will work within the Enterprise Architecture team to develop data solutions for reporting, analytics and decision‑making.

The role requires strong Power BI, ETL and modelling skills, plus experience with Azure Data Factory, SSIS and SQL. Hybrid work arrangements and a focus on data governance will support delivery.

Qualifications

Proven experience designing and maintaining data solutions for BI reporting.
Strong skills in Power BI dataflows, semantic models and reporting.
Experience with ETL: SQL, Power Query, Azure Data Factory, SSIS.
Knowledge of dimensional modelling and star schema.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, CS, IT, or related discipline; Power BI certifications is a plus.

Success in this role will be supported by:

Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dataflows, semantic models and reporting solutions.
Strong capability in data extraction, transformation and modelling using technologies such as Power Query (M), SQL, Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
Knowledge of dimensional modelling, star schema design and business intelligence best practices.
Experience supporting self‑service analytics and enabling business users to derive value from data.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Power Platform technologies and modern data engineering practices.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline. Microsoft Power BI certifications will be highly regarded.
