Icon Water is seeking a Data Engineer to shape data into insights that drive decisions. You’ll be part of the Enterprise Architecture team, building trusted, accessible information for reporting and analytics.

You will contribute to a modern data ecosystem, enabling self-service analytics and improving data accessibility using Microsoft data technologies, while collaborating across business units in Canberra.

Qualifications

Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dataflows, semantic models and reporting solutions.
Data extraction, transformation and modelling using Power Query, SQL, Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
Knowledge of dimensional modelling and BI best practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data solutions for reporting, analytics and decision-making.
Collaborate with stakeholders across operational, technical and corporate areas.
Contribute to a modern data ecosystem enabling self-service analytics.

The Opportunity

As a Data Engineer, you will help shape how data is transformed into meaningful insights that drive better business decisions across the organisation. Working as part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will develop and maintain data solutions that enable trusted, accessible and consistent information for reporting, analytics and decision-making.

Partnering with stakeholders across operational, technical and corporate areas, you will contribute to the development of a modern data ecosystem that supports self-service analytics, improves data accessibility and strengthens organisational capability. Success In This Role Will Be Supported By

Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dataflows, semantic models and reporting solutions.
Strong capability in data extraction, transformation and modelling using technologies such as Power Query (M), SQL, Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
Knowledge of dimensional modelling, star schema design and business intelligence best practices.
Experience supporting self-service analytics and enabling business users to derive value from data.
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Power Platform technologies and modern data engineering practices.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline. Microsoft Power BI certifications will be highly regarded.
