Job summary

Optus is a leading Australian telecommunications provider based in Macquarie Park, Sydney. This Senior Technical Specialist, AusAlert role is a hands-on position within the Integration & Maintenance Engineering team, responsible for the lifecycle, testing and technical support of critical messaging and public warning platforms.

You will own AusAlert CBC and related messaging services, provide Tier 3 support, and lead complex fault investigations while ensuring reliable, secure and resilient

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with mobile messaging platforms and network protocols is desirable.
• Ability to lead major incident management and complex fault investigations.

Responsibilities

• Own Tier 3 technical support for AusAlert CBC and related messaging platforms, leading complex fault analysis and vendor escalations.
• Perform recovery and restoration activities; manage AusAlert configuration and patches.
• Maintain interoperability across CBE systems, MME and AMF platforms, gateways and interfaces.
• Analyze broadcast performance and capacity; recommend improvements for reliable mass alerts.
• Lead testing, integration and production cutovers for new software/hardware and services.
• Support security, audit and regulatory requirements with proper documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring during incidents and drills.
