Optus is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist for AusAlert, based in Macquarie Park, Sydney. You will own Tier 3 support for AusAlert CBC and related messaging platforms, lead fault investigations and manage lifecycle activities.

This hands-on role requires independent judgment and technical leadership, with opportunities to mentor teams and coordinate with vendors to ensure secure, resilient service delivery, including testing, deployments and compliance.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Tier 2 operations experience.
• Experience with mobile network messaging platforms (4G/5G).
• Strong fault analysis and incident management capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Own Tier 3 technical support for AusAlert CBC and related messaging platforms, leading complex fault analysis and vendor escalations.
• Execute recovery and restoration activities, manage AusAlert configuration and patches, upgrades and capacity changes.
• Maintain integration and interoperability across CBE systems, MME and AMF platforms, gateways and interfaces.
• Analyse broadcast performance and capacity, recommend improvements for reliable mass alerts.
• Lead testing, integration and production cutovers for new software/hardware, with validation and rollback procedures.
• Support security, audit and regulatory requirements and maintain accurate engineering docs.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Operations and Tier 1 teams during incidents and drills.
