Job summary

Shine Lawyers in Sydney seeks a Senior Associate to contribute to high-profile class actions and major commercial litigation. You’ll lead on cases, shape strategy, manage complex discovery, and mentor junior lawyers within a collaborative team.

You’ll work with clients, insurers and funders, coordinating investigations and case development while upholding Shine’s commitment to justice and client service across Australia.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associatewith experience individually contributing to the success of class actions and/or major commercial litigation to join our growing Class Actionsteam.

Whether you’ve come from defendant or plaintiff practice, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role on prominent cases, including contributing to case strategy, expert evidence, and investigations into new class actions. With mentorship from a team of highly experienced class actions practitioners, you will have an ideal balance of autonomy and guidance.

With compassion, connection and purpose, you’ll be a true champion of our clients by:

• Managing the conduct of multiple class actions, using case plans and effectively delegating and overseeing the supporting legal team.
• Providing strategic advice and updates to Shine’s partnered litigation funders on ongoing cases and investigations.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, providing regular and effective communication whilst managing expectations.
• Contributing to the origination, investigation and commencement of new class action opportunities.
• Assisting in class action investigations.

What you’ll bring

• Experience as a senior lawyer practising in major commercial litigation, including experience managing discovery review processes and the preparation of expert evidence.
