Job summary

Shine Lawyers in Melbourne CBD is seeking an Associate with experience contributing to successful class actions and complex commercial litigation. You will join a growing team, take an active role on prominent cases, contribute to case strategy, and support investigations into new class actions.

Mentorship from seasoned practitioners provides a strong balance of autonomy and guidance. You’ll bring a current practising certificate and 3+ years’ PAE experience, with a focus on financial services

Qualifications

• A current practising certificate.
• Experience as a 3+ years' PAE solicitor with strong foundational knowledge across commercial litigation.
• Experience in class actions, either pre-admission or post-admission, is desirable but not essential.
• Experience with e-discovery is desirable.
• A genuine desire to build a fulfilling career as a solicitor across financial services or finance-based class actions.
• A strong ability to build rapport with our group members and take evidence from lay witnesses.
• Strong legal analytical skills, research skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with and manage large volumes of complex documents and reports.
• A commitment to truly connect with those around you and work together to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

The Team

We are proud to have astrongClass Actionspresence nationally, assisting clients to secure justice in some of the nation's most prominent Class Actions, including the Stolen Wages and Stolen Generations class actions, the Ruby Princess class action and the Worley Ltd shareholder class action. The team isled by an experienced and highly regarded Head of Class Actions, and assisted by a talented and dedicated team of Practice Leaders, Special Counsels, Senior Associates and other legal professionals.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an Associatewith experience contributing to the success of running class actions and/or complex commercial litigation to join our growingMelbourne CBD-based Class Actions team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Whether you’ve come from defendant or plaintiff practice, you will have the opportunity to take a active role on prominent cases, including contributing to case strategy, expert evidence and investigations into new class actions. With mentorship from a team of highly experienced class actions practitioners, you will have an ideal balance of autonomy and guidance.
