Job summary

Qantas seeks a Senior Android Developer to lead architecture, development and delivery of Android software at the Adelaide Product Innovation Centre. You will mentor the Mobile team while hands-on coding to build high-performing Android experiences that respond to user feedback and business goals.

You will work across Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, CI/CD, and server-driven architectures, guiding design, testing and code quality with a strong emphasis on automation and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a similar role.
• Extensive experience contributing to large Android projects and teams.
• Strong grasp of software design patterns and techniques for high-quality code.
• Proven technology experience across Kotlin, Android Studio, GitHub, Mobile Continuous Integration, Jetpack Compose.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on automation, testing and code quality.
• Excellent communicator, able to translate tech needs across business and multidisciplinary teams.
• CI/CD pipelines experience, preferably GitHub Actions.
• Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
• Experience with server-driven architectures will be well regarded.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and assist in recruiting new team members.
