Job summary

Qantas Airways is building a new product in Adelaide’s Product Innovation Centre. We are seeking a Senior iOS Developer to lead the delivery and evolution of our mobile apps, collaborating with UX/UI designers, engineers, and product owners to craft high-performing, user-centric iOS experiences.

You will architect scalable iOS solutions, mentor teammates, and ensure robust performance using Xcode, Instruments, and modern patterns like MVVM.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a similar role.
• Good understanding of Object-oriented design and patterns.
• Demonstrable experience building, releasing and supporting multiple iOS apps.
• Exceptional skills in writing readable, clean, and structured code utilizing proper architecture and software design patterns.
• Deep knowledge of iOS app development in Swift with UIKit, SwiftUI, Swift Package Manager, Core Animation and Push Notifications.
• Proficiency with Xcode and instruments for performance tuning and debugging.
• Ability to architect complex iOS solutions, familiar with MVVM patterns.
• Comfort with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Actions.
• Experience writing multi-threaded, asynchronous code.
• Experience with server-driven architectures will be well regarded.
• Ability to mentor junior developers and perform code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and develop the software systems powering our mobile experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional squads, UX/UI designers, and product stakeholders to continuously improve the app.
• Architect technical framework solutions and guidelines for a large iOS product.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews.
• Maintain high quality, readable, and well-documented code.
