About the role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to deliver on complex projects - which will include both hands-on delivery excellence to produce valuable outputs, as well as flexing your consulting skills to provide advice and oversight to both the team & client.

This role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Here’s a snapshot of what’s in store:

Deliver Mantel Group’s core analytics offerings and provide technical guidance on client projects
Create and maintain scalable data pipelines, models, dashboards and reports to make data accessible to clients in a useful, timely, robust and intuitive way
Work across a range of modern data tools following best DataOps practices on different cloud or hybrid data stacks
Support the development and integration of AI solutions to enhance client data capabilities
Provide clients with guidance and recommendations on the right data tools depending on the challenges and opportunities they face
Communicate effectively with stakeholders who have a range of different expectations and backgrounds (including non-technical stakeholders)
Mentor and provide valuable feedback to junior team members working with you on projects.
Deliver awesome outcomes for our clients, which range from state government departments to nonprofits and large commercial companies
Share your knowledge more broadly across the Mantel Group team.

We’d like to hear from you if you have:

Previous experience in a hands-on data analytics role, BI or related role in a consulting organisation
Demonstrated hands-on data experience across BI, data warehousing, data modelling, modern cloud platforms
Experience in creating efficient, scalable & quality data models, with an appreciation of different data modelling approaches such as Kimball's dimensional modelling, Data Vault etc.
Programming and data manipulation skills using SQL, Python and experience with modern data tech stack such as dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, Qlik, Looker
Previous application of DataOps tools and best practices in your data workflows
Ability to guide projects forward independently and also provide support to more junior team members
