Job summary

Department of Treasury Queensland (Brisbane) is seeking a Senior Analyst - Level 2 to deliver data-driven policy revenue insights and forecasting. You will build Alteryx models, refine Power BI dashboards, and extract datasets for royalty and payroll tax teams, ensuring accurate analyses for the Senior Executive Team.

Qualifications

• Data extraction and cleansing, evaluating, interpreting, consolidating, visualising and presenting datasets.
• Experience with analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, Databricks, SQL or similar.
• Ability to undertake economic, financial, or budget analysis.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills.
• Good organisational skills and ability to navigate, lead and manage competing work priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build a model in Alteryx to calculate revenue impacts of a proposed policy.
• Modify a Power BI dashboard used to identify revenue risks with the compliance team.
• Extract a dataset requested by the Royalty or Payroll Tax team for operations.
• Investigate unexpected results in reporting and prepare explanations for the Senior Executive Team.
• Update royalty revenue forecasts based on latest data and identify drivers of change.
• Collaborate with analysts to update models after changes in systems.
