Job summary

Zendesk Australia is seeking a senior ML/AI Systems Engineer to push the frontier of autonomous agents in our Resolution Platform. You will design scalable agent architectures, memory and learning systems, and multi-agent coordination to drive real-world customer service tasks.

You will champion rigorous internal evaluations, implement robust guardrails, and collaborate across teams to ensure efficient, low-latency deployment in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production ML/AI systems with agent architectures.
• Strong evaluation instincts and internal evals to close the gap with production performance.
• Python and PyTorch fluency.
• Familiarity with at least one agent framework; know when to build custom.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production ML/AI systems for autonomous agents at scale.
• Advance memory structures and learning mechanisms to bridge offline models and real-time tasks.
• Develop multi-agent coordination and Agent-to-Agent delegation protocols.
• Integrate robust evaluation gates into CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
