Job summary

Zurich Insurance Group in Australia is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join the ML/AI Engineering chapter. You will design, build and operate agentic AI solutions at scale, turning complex problems into secure, observable services and guiding production deployments.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, collaboration with product and data teams, and fostering reusable patterns, security-by-design and cost-aware development across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience designing, building and operating AI systems in production.
• Proven track record of deploying AI agents using modern frameworks.
• Deep AWS engineering across Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SageMaker, ECS, S3 and IAM.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate production-grade AI solutions using large language models and agentic patterns.
• Create reusable AI services, reference architectures, and guardrails for cross-team adoption.
• Establish observability, cost controls, and secure-by-design practices for AI production workloads.
• Develop secure APIs and integration patterns connecting LLMs to enterprise platforms.
