Job summary

Zurich is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to design and build AI-native insurance solutions. You will lead cross-functional teams, set technical direction, and uplift engineering standards across the full lifecycle from experimentation to production.

You will collaborate with product and design teams to deploy agent-based systems, AI agents, and RAG pipelines in a cloud-native environment, driving reliability and measurable impact for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software engineering, ML or data science in cloud-native environments.
• Strong programming with Python and TypeScript and modern AI frameworks.
• Proven experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, or agentic systems with LLMs.
• Deep understanding of AI evaluation, observability and optimization for model performance.
• Experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code to design scalable cloud solutions.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, data engineering, and Agile, product-led delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of AI agents and orchestration in production.
• Raise engineering excellence with DevSecOps and AIOps practices for reliability.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring and observability frameworks to lift quality.
• Build scalable, reusable components and contribute to shared standards/docs.
• Improve developer productivity with AI-powered tools across delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve customer problems using AI-native methods.
