Job summary

Zip is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in Australia to design, build, and scale production grade AI capabilities. You will partner with Product, Engineering and Data teams to deliver AI powered solutions that drive customer value and business impact across Zip’s platforms.

You’ll work across data pipelines, ML models, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, shaping the future of Zip’s AI platform while collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring production readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience building production grade AI software and platforms.
• Strong experience developing AI solutions using Python together with modern cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience delivering scalable AI products using technologies including React or NextJS where appropriate.
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, system design and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI enabled products and platform capabilities from technical discovery through to production.
• Build scalable AI applications using Python alongside modern frontend technologies where required.
• Develop reliable, secure and observable AI systems that are designed for production from day one.
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Risk and Security teams to identify opportunities where AI can create meaningful customer and business value.
• Drive technical excellence through architecture decisions, code reviews, mentoring and engineering best practice.
• Balance experimentation with long term platform quality, operational excellence and responsible AI delivery.
• Help shape the future direction of Zip's AI platform and engineering standards.
