Datacom is building an AI-focused engineering team in Australia/NZ to deliver cutting-edge AI-driven software solutions. You will join the Digital Engineering AI team to design, develop, and deploy AI models addressing complex business challenges, collaborating across cross-functional teams.

This role emphasizes practical AI delivery and strong software foundations. We are looking for senior engineers who can lead projects, mentor peers, and push the boundaries of AI integration in production

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional development experience, preferably with Python and/or TypeScript.
• Delivery of at least one generative-AI application using Azure OpenAI/Microsoft Foundry, Amazon Bedrock or equivalent.
• Experience managing context and integrating models with data and tools, including retrieval, embeddings, and tool calling.
• Ability to diagnose failures, manage API limits/timeouts, and verify AI outputs and workflows.
• Ability to understand customer needs and translate requirements into working solutions.
