Job summary

Cuscal Limited is developing a new AI platform in Australia. You will lead hands-on development from concept to production, building AI and Generative AI solutions, and deploying them as scalable enterprise applications.

You will work with LLMs, ML models and AI services, implementing RAG strategies and orchestrating tools, APIs and data systems. Strong production experience, CI/CD discipline and stakeholder collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building, deploying and supporting production software or AI solutions in an enterprise environment.
• Proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks, including experience building production APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Familiarity with AI software development lifecycle practices including CI/CD, automated testing and model lifecycle management.
• Practical knowledge of Azure Foundry.
• Experience integrating solutions with APIs, data platforms and business systems.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively through ambiguity and collaborate across technical and business teams.

What you’ll be doing

This is an initial 12 months maximum term contract

You’ll take AI opportunities from concept through to production and support with building a new AI platform for Cuscal

• Design, build, test, deploy and support AI and Generative AI solutions
• Develop applications using large language models (LLMs), machine learning models and AI services
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using enterprise data and knowledge sources
• Work with prompt engineering, structured outputs, tool and function calling and model orchestration
• Integrate AI solutions with enterprise APIs, data platforms, databases, document repositories and business systems

About you

You’re an engineer who enjoys getting hands-on with emerging AI technology and turning experimentation into working software. You understand that enterprise AI needs more than a great prototype. You care about engineering quality, security, scalability and building solutions that can genuinely be supported in production

• Proven experience building, deploying and supporting production software or AI solutions in an enterprise environment
• Proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks, including experience building production APIs
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP
• Familiarity with AI software development lifecycle practices including CI/CD, automated testing and model lifecycle management
• Practical knowledge of modern AI technologies and their capabilities and limitations (ideally Azure Foundry)
• Experience integrating solutions with APIs, data platforms and business systems
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills bringing enthusiasm and energy to your work
• The ability to work effectively through ambiguity and collaborate across technical and business teams
